Why We Can't Wait

Why We Can’t Wait, Inc. began in the summer of 2009 with an eight-week summer Enrichment program. We are a 501 c (3) nonprofit agency with eight major programs: WWCW Afterschool Academy, WWCW Ambassadors, WWCW South, WWCW Boys to men/ Girls to women Rosebuds, WWCW East, Cultivating Character in Millennials (CCM) Leadership Academy, WWCW BASICS and Career Applications Regarding Students (C.A.R.S) summer job program for teens (see wwcwnash.org). Why We Can’t Wait, Inc. also follows and tracts the students in our programs during the school year. The goal is to provide a platform for them to experience diversity, equity, and inclusion while giving hope for a brighter future. Our mission is to empower and develop youth in underserved communities to be productive citizens in society. In addition, we strive to improve the home dynamics of our participants. As a program that is holistic in nature, we recognize the need to support participants while programming with us, but also improve their home-life. With this, we encourage better parent –child relationships, and work with both to combat growing health concerns such as, but not limited to, childhood diabetes, childhood obesity, violence, and sedentary lifestyles of families.

We believe all youth can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.

Our Vision

Why We Can't Wait, Inc. provides a non-traditional program for children 12 -18 years old that reside in the Tony Sudekum/ J.C.Napier housing projects. One of our biggest goals has been to reduce the number of murders occurring among teens that live in these developments. Secondly, and evident in our professional development and career shadowing experiences, is our goal to guarantee that our students are career-ready.
